threekidsavatar.jpg I'm a stay-at-home mother to my three (sometimes) wonderful children. They are usually with me, since I homeschool them. We enjoy going into the GSMNP, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and playing in nature. Occasionally, you can catch the hubby and kids fishing in the river. • 100 Things about ME

My Mom’s Family Photos

I visited my Mother today and she let me scan all of these great old pictures. I am a huge fan of old photos and family history. Here is a glimpse…

Here are her Great Grandparents, Richard Tipton Ogle & Martha Isabell Kear Ogle. Their daughter is pictured below.

Here is her Dad’s Mom, Ethel Ogle Ownby. She married Jesse Lonzo Ownby(pictured below with most of their kids, some grandkids).

Here is her father’s family. L to R: Hazel Ownby, Jesse Ownby <her grandfather, holding Eddie Etherton, Isabel Ownby, Elma Ownby Etherton, Linda Etherton(front), Mayford Ownby < her father. @1949 We are missing two of their daughters, Iva <below, and Euna Ownby who died in 1947.

The daughter/sister who took the last photo is below.

Here is her Aunt Iva at 6 years old. She was standing by the bridge near Pi Beta Phi School in Gatlinburg Tennessee. This is around 1928.

My mom’s aunt Iva at 16-17 years old. This was her school pic from Island View School in Boyds Creek, around 1938.
