Harrisburg 101

We recently got in the whole letterboxing game/sport.  The kids and I planted our first box today.  We were going to plant it on Saturday, but got too excited.  I designed a stamp that reflected the place we dropped it at and the reason for the box.  It is planted in honor of DS2’s 10th birthday.

Yesterday, the kids searched at our local Goodwill store for the perfect ‘box’.  We were looking for something brown, so it would be hidden better.  The perfect score was a little brown box.  Couldn’t get any better than that one.  We got it for a whole dollar.  Now off to the Dollar Tree for some other supplies.  We grabbed some baggies and index cards.  We made journals out of the index cards by punching a hole in the corner of a bunch and then using a notebook ring to hold it all together. <==Long sentence–

When we got back home, we built two of these boxes.  One we will plant later and another location.  Can’t wait!!!!

Here’s a pic of the kids while at the planting site.

It is similar to yearly pics by a local homeschooler.  She takes pics every year of her family in the same pose, to see how much they’ve grown.  I love all of her work.  You should check it out, she just started up her own photography business her in the Smokies.
